Q: Why does it say "Cannot send file to the recipient!" even though the recipient is online?
A: Turbo MSN uses MSN P2P file transfer protocol which is supported by MSN 6.x clients. However, if the recipient is running on Windows Messenger (the one comes with Windows XP), which does not support MSN P2P protocl, Turbo MSN will not be able to send files to the recipient.

Q: Does Turbo MSN support N-Gage, Nokia 3650, or Nokia 7650?
A: Turbo MSN requires Symbian OS version 7 upwards. N-Gage/3650/7650 is running on Symbian OS version 6.1. However, we will support it soon.

Q: please could you confirm how much data it sends roughly per message recived and sent?
A: This really depends on your usage pattern. Normally, it is proportional to the amount of messages you sent and received, plus a fixed amout of overhead. However, one thing to remember is to avoid keeping signning in and off continuously in a short period of time, as each time you login in, the MSN server will send all your contacts information. This is especically important if you have a large amount of contacts.

Q: Can you please explain the file transfer menu items?
A:

• Send File: this menu item is for sending files to your contact whom you are chatting with. A file selection dialog will be launched for you to pick any type of file (Symbian installation file, photos, music, documents).
• Accept File: If your contact want to send your a file, you need to accept the file transfer invitation by clicking this menu item. If there are more than one file tranfer invitation pending (e.g., your contact is sending you two files at the same time), a selection dialog will be launched for you to choose which one to accept. If there is only one invitation pending, the selection dialog will not be launched.
• Open File: To open a file you contact sent to you, you can click this menu item. If there are more than one file, you will be prompted to choose which file to open. Turbo MSN can launch the right application automatically to open the select the file. For example, if you open a .sis file, it will launch the installation application, if you open an image file, if will launch the image viewer.
• Cancel Send: If you want to cancel the sending, you can use this menu item. Again, if more than one file is current being sent, you will prompted to choose which one to cancel.
• Cancel Receive: If you want to cancel the receiving, you can use this menu item. Again, if more than one file is current being sent, you will prompted to choose which one to cancel.

Q: Once it is saved and i try to open it,it wont allow it and says no application installed for this file.is there something i am doing wrong?i can only access the history file if i transfer to a computer.could you please tell me how to rectify the situation.
A: The problem is because of the way you names the history file.  Please try to name it as a .txt file, for example, "history001.txt", instead of "history001".

The following questions are related to Series 60 version.

Q: How do I disable the sound alert?
A: In the login view (the first view when you sign in), click options==>options==>settings, and select disable sound alert.

Q: How do I set my own photo as the front page?
A: After you sign in, choose Options==>Options==>Settings, and click front page item, which will allow you to select your own photo.

Q: How do I set my own sound alerts?
A: After you sign in, choose Options==>Options==>Settings, and new message or online alert item, which will allow you to select your own sound files.

Q: Where are received files saved? And How do I open them?
A: They are saved under "c:\Nokia\Received Files". After you received the files, you can simply click the menu "Options==>File Transfer==>Open"

Q: Where are the saved chat history files?
A: They are saved under "c:\Nokia\MSN History"

Q: How do I sign in MSN without letting my contacts see me online?
A: Before you sign in, first set your status as "Appear Offline". Once you sign in, you can switch your status to online, busy, etc.

The following questions are related to Nokia 9300/9500 version.

Q: When I am in a chat session window, how do I switch focus to the chat history from the input line?
A: Use the TAB key to switch focus between chat history and input line.

Q: My friend send me a web link during the chatting, how do I automatically open it?
A: First switch focus to the chat history, and move the cursor to the link. Turbo MSN will automatically recognize it and you can launch the web browser by pressing the "Open Web Address" button. You can do the same with phone number and email address.

Q: How do I save the chat history and where is it saved?
A: Open the menu, choose "Action" menu pane, select "Save To History". It is saved by default to "c:\My files\Msn History". You can change this default settings in the settings dailog".

Q: Where are the received files saved?
A: It is saved by default to "c:\My files\Received Files". You can change this default settings in the settings dailog".

Q: I recently purchased Turbo Msn but there are some features that does not work, I can’t seem to add people or remove people. Also I can’t manage a group I have the Nokia 9500.

A:

• Make sure that you are NOT signed i with "Invisible status".
• Make sure that you are currently in the group view (not online/offline view)
• If you need to add/remove group, switch focus to the group pane.  Otherwise, if you are to add/remove contact, switch focus to the contacts pane
• If in the group pane, "add" or "remove" button means to add/remove group.  If in the contacts pane, "add" or "remove" means to add/remove contact.
